About the Role

We’re seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of IT Operations to lead the backbone of our digital infrastructure and IT service delivery. As our organization grows, the need for a scalable, secure, and high-performing IT environment becomes even more critical. In this role, you will oversee all core IT operations, ensuring seamless system performance, strong cybersecurity posture, and exceptional service delivery across departments.

This is a hybrid role based in Texas, with the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in the United States. The ideal candidate is a seasoned operations leader with deep technical knowledge and a passion for optimizing IT processes that support long-term business success.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily IT operations, infrastructure, service desk, and enterprise system administration.

  • Oversee network security, compliance, system reliability, and disaster recovery strategies.

  • Develop and enforce IT policies, processes, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency and security.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to ensure IT support aligns with organizational needs and priorities.

  • Partner with the CIO/CTO to design and implement technology roadmaps, infrastructure upgrades, and system integrations.

  • Manage IT vendors, contracts, and service-level agreements (SLAs).

  • Analyze IT metrics and performance indicators to ensure proactive issue resolution and continuous improvement.

  • Lead and mentor IT team members, promoting a culture of service excellence, collaboration, and innovation.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).

  • 8+ years of experience in IT operations, including 3+ years in a leadership capacity.

  • Proven expertise in managing enterprise infrastructure, cloud-based environments, and security frameworks.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AWS, VMware, Active Directory, and endpoint management tools.

  • Solid understanding of ITIL principles, service management, and help desk operations.

  • Experience managing hybrid IT environments and remote teams.

  • Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership skills.

  • Strong vendor and project management abilities.


Preferred Backgrounds

Experience in industries such as technology, healthcare, logistics, or financial services is a strong plus—particularly where security, scalability, and compliance are central to IT operations.
