Position Summary

The Director of Business Development will own and execute the organizationโ€™s growth strategy. This individual will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, building partnerships with high-value clients, and aligning sales efforts with organizational objectives. The Director will work closely with senior leadership to define target markets, design go-to-market strategies, and deliver revenue growth through innovation, influence, and execution.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Growth Initiatives

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with company vision and market expansion goals.

  • Identify, pursue, and secure strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and enterprise accounts across multiple industries.

  • Analyze emerging markets and trends to position the company for competitive advantage.

Client Acquisition & Relationship Management

  • Build trusted relationships with C-suite executives, decision-makers, and industry leaders.

  • Design and execute tailored engagement strategies to maximize customer acquisition and retention.

  • Serve as the executive sponsor for major clients, ensuring alignment of deliverables with strategic outcomes.

Revenue Growth & Performance Metrics

  • Drive measurable business results through new revenue streams, increased market penetration, and expanded product adoption.

  • Establish KPIs and dashboards to monitor pipeline health, deal velocity, and revenue forecasts.

  • Partner with Finance and Operations to align growth targets with profitability goals.

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Build and lead a high-performance business development team with a culture of accountability, results, and innovation.

  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product, and Technology teams to create go-to-market strategies that differentiate the company in competitive markets.

  • Mentor and coach rising leaders within the business development function.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA strongly preferred.

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in business development, sales strategy, or corporate partnerships, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

  • Proven track record of building and scaling high-value client relationships across enterprise and mid-market segments.

  • Deep expertise in technology, professional services, or consulting industries.

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills with C-suite stakeholders.

  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
